New interview up
I did a 30-minute internet radio interview this afternoon with Sam Heer, in which we talked about Go, The Nines, the Burton movies and screenwriting in general.
If you’ve heard other interviews with me, there will probably be nothing revelatory. But it’s amusing to hear how fast we both manage to speak. It really sounds like we’ve been artificially sped-up, but it’s just a lot of caffeine.

John – have you ever done a podcast interview with Creative Screenwriting? I realized, after reading this post, that I can’t remember ever seeing your name on that list but it would surprise me if they haven’t ever asked you to do one.

Yes, Creative Screenwriting pods are fantastic. John should definitely do one. In regards this blog radio interview, the lady spoke way too fast. I was getting agitated just listening to her.

Another shout-out to the CS podcasts and Jeff Goldsmith. they are quite good. Of course, those are timed to just-released, or recent, movies. But please consider it next time one of your top-secret projects arrives in the multiplexes.

Hi,
I’m sorry if I spoke to fast. I just had so many questions for Mr. August and I was trying to get them all answered but I will keep that in mind in the future.
Yes, Jeff Goldsmith does some great interviews. I think he has well over 100 in itunes worth the listen.

Perusing your post on “How to explain quantum mechanics” (of particular interest to me since I am a quantum mechanic) lol, I discovered that you wrote “The Nines”!!!!
I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!!!! It has become one of my all time top five flicks (which is determined solely on how many times I can watch it and not be bored– along with how much of the movie I remember upon leaving the theater.. lol)
EVERY time I am in Blockbuster I recommend The Nines to someone and hover over them till they take it to the counter… ok, apart from a few restraining orders, people seem to like the recommendation.
Wow. You wrote The Nines and I’m writing to you, … life is cool!

I’m listening to the interview and just heard that you grew up in Boulder– me too! Personally, I think that explains a LOT. ;p
