New Charlie posters up

April 9, 2005 Charlie, Projects

charlie onesheet[Ain’t It Cool News](http://aintitcoolnews.com) has the six new one-sheets for [Charlie and the Chocolate Factory](http://imdb.com/title/tt0367594/combined). Five of the posters feature the young Golden Ticket winners, while the final one has a new image of Willy Wonka, with the appropriate tagline, “semi-sweet and nuts.”

I hadn’t seen any of these one-sheets before this morning, but I strongly suspected these single-character portraits were on their way, given the somewhat-iconic characters of Veruca Salt and company.

New Charlie poster

April 4, 2005 Charlie, Projects

Charlie PosterI haven’t seen a physical version of it yet, but [JoBlo.com](http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=7080) has the artwork for the second [Charlie and the Chocolate Factory](http://chocolatefactorymovie.com) poster. This one shows Freddie Highmore as Charlie, along with his four rotten tour-mates (Mike Teavee, Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde and Veruca Salt).

Before you ask:

* No, I don’t get any input on posters. I’m just happy my name is spelled correctly.

* No, I don’t know if this is the final poster, or if there will be a different one for Europe/Australia/Loompa-Land. My hunch is that the marketing people are pretty industrious folks, so there are many other potential one-sheets which may eventually become foreign posters and/or newspaper ads.

* July 15th is the opening date for North America. I don’t know yet when it will open in the U.K. and other countries.

Wonka Industries open for business

March 17, 2005 Charlie, Projects

Wonka Industries Logo

It’s easy to overlook, but on the main webpage for this summer’s [Charlie and the Chocolate Factory](http://chocolatefactorymovie.warnerbros.com/), there’s an icon for Wonka Industries. One click takes you to the corporate site for the world’s most beloved chocolateer. A lot of stuff is still to-be-added, but click around and you’ll find some new images I haven’t seen anywhere else.

There is also a new [Spanish trailer](http://wwws.warnerbros.es/movies/chocolatefactory/home.html#) for “Charlie y la Fabrica de Chocolate.” It’s the same as the U.K. trailer (i.e., flaming dolls).

The [Dutch trailer](http://www.sjakieendechocoladefabriekdefilm.nl/) is also identical to the U.K., but “Charlie” has become “Sjakie.”

German (and French) Charlie teasers now available

February 12, 2005 Charlie, Projects

[[German Charlie Still]](http://wwws.warnerbros.de/movies/charlie/)Warner Bros. Germany has their own version of the [teaser trailer](http://wwws.warnerbros.de/movies/charlie/) up for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or *Charlie und die Schokoladen-Fabrik*. I wouldn’t normally single it out, but they went through the effort to re-do the “Willy Wonka” song in German, and, well, it’s kind of amazingly great.

Any Deutsch-speaking readers who’d like to translate the song, I’d certainly welcome it.

The [Japanese Warner Bros. site](http://www.warnerbros.co.jp/web/main/movies/movies.jsp?frompage=wb_homepage_jp) has a taunting and tiny version of the poster, but no link to a trailer. Yet.

**UPDATE**
Mike points out that there’s now a [French version](http://wwws.warnerbros.fr/movies/charlie/?frompromo=movies_comingsoon_Charlie) available — check the “bande-annonce” section. Translation is forthcoming.
