At the Berlin Film Festival this morning, GreeneStreet Films International announced that they’d picked up the movie for all markets outside North America. It’s news I’ve been sitting on since basically the day after the Sundance premiere. The company really dug the movie and were very aggressive about getting it, so I’m happy we’re finally announcing it.
Right now, GreeneStreet is busy lining up regional distributors in Europe, Asia and the rest of the world. There’s talk of other festivals, but we’ll see what happens. And no, I don’t know when the movie will be opening in Bucharest. But the minute I find out, I’ll share.
For the U.S. and Canada–and honestly, for EW’s Whitney Pastorek–there’s happy news but no imminent announcement. Suffice to say the companies involved are exactly who I’d hoped they would be. But there’s still a dozen things to sort through. Once I’m allowed to say, trust me, I will.
