I saw this film at the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival in Birmingham, Ala. and thought it was hilarious. I love the scene where the cops bust up an Ed Wood writing group.

    LMAO

  3. Blarneyman says:

I am loving that your site is becoming more of a blog of late, in my eyes. I like the vibe.

  4. Mark says:

God help you if you use voice overs.

    great clip. thanks

  5. Seth says:

What’s LMAO mean? I’m not hip to that, yo.

  6. Sarah says:

Seth, I left it abbreviated, just to keep it clean. Please look up urbandictionary.com

  7. Guy In Blue Shirt says:

I’m the guy in the blue shirt…I never signed a release and I’m wondering why my face isn’t obscured??

They tagged me for opening my dramatic screenplay with a dream sequence. I plead guilty (first offense), and was sentenced to screenwriters rehab…

  8. Donovan says:

LMAO means “Laughing My Ass Off.” Ass, ass, ass, ass, ass, ass, ass. Personally, I thought the Domestic Disturbance one was funnier. Just for the wife’s shriek when he starts reading his sci-fi script.

  9. Tim King says:

Hi, John. I think there must be something wrong with me. I know these are supposed to be funny. I just have a really hard time laughing. It literally, physically hurts to laugh at these. Maybe it’s just because I’ve been so immersed writing Abe’s Turn lately. Or maybe not, because I also know Arrested Development and 30 Rock are supposed to be funny.

Maybe someday you can write about what’s wrong with me, what makes the same scene a riot to one person, and to another, motivation for a riot.

  10. Christian M. Howell says:

Now that was funny. The other two were like WOW. I never laughed so hard. Maybe it’s because I’m a Linda Seger “fan.” If they had mentioned slug lines I’d still be laughing.

    I mean:

“the on-the-nose dialog and your spec script is 65 pages too long.”

    And

“there’s not a lot in it but I did get a few belly-laughs so I’m going to let you go with a warning.”

    ROTFLMAO!!!

  11. Sarah says:

I especially like part 3 “…and I loved every second of it!”

  12. Paul Atkinson says:

Yeah, they’re not very funny, but they’re not as elitist as one would assume, so props for that.

  13. ScribeLA says:

Thank you, John, for your article. I’m motivated and humbled by the great adventure of life that your writing helps us to understand and enjoy. - Scribe

  14. West of NY says:

If you can’t find the humor in Arrested Development…and in extension Script Cops, then there is likely something very wrong with you. Consider this an intervention and seek help.
