hack

An unflattering term for a writer or director who carelessly puts together a script or film with little talent or regard for craft or storytelling.

A writer who plies their trade exclusively for money, without concern for the quality of the writing. Also, a writer who concerns themselves only with commercial aspects of their work, rather than the artistic.
