co-producer

In theatrical motion pictures, co-producer is a title given to a wide variety of individuals for a wide variety of reasons, making it a credit of dubious value. In some cases, co-producers are line producers who have earned additional recognition. In other cases, they are people who have simply negotiated for a producing credit as additional compensation. Typically, a co-producer is someone with more responsibility than an associate producer, but less than an executive producer or producer.
