climax

The scene or sequence of scenes late in the film that resolves the dramatic tension of the narrative, often in an exciting or explosive fashion.

The climax typically brings about dire consequences for the antagonist, a triumph or redemption for the protagonist, and a return to dramatic stasis for all of the characters in the narrative.
