Preschool, NYC edition

Following up on my post about getting your kid into preschool, reader bensitzer tipped me off to an upcoming documentary about the equivalent madness in NYC. You can see the trailer here.

    Great trailer. Thanks.

    I can watch kids eat Play-Doh. I’m changing my line of work.

    You say you need to live in L.A. to be a screenwriter, but honestly, the prospect of going through that is enough to make me want to give up my career goals in a split second and stay as far away from L.A. or N.Y.C. as possible for the sake of my future kids. Then again, I don’t live in the culture, so I can’t understand it…just like some of these parents would stare at me blankly if I ever suggested skipping preschool altogether.

    When I was trying to get my first daughter into preschool, the line formed 48 hours before actual signup time. You were allowed to hold a place in line with one other couple, so everyone ended up doing a 12 hour shift. The whole thing had a Breakfast Club for Parents feel to it. Two years later, I wrote the script based on the experience and shot it as my first feature on HD for $2,000. We’re going to be at the Phoenix Film Festival in April. Preschool in NYC is not that hard unless you are trying to get into ultra-exclusive schools.

    @Mike

    Very promising trailer, I really enjoyed that! Any chance to see the whole thing in Germany?

    Thanks! No plans for German distribution yet, but we’re just starting out. Check frontave.com for updates, or leave your email on our Contact form and we’ll let you know (that’s all, no newsletters or any other kind of spam). Thanks again!
