    John, this is a movie I have watched multiple times and each time carry away something different. I love that! thanks for keeping the film world interesting.

  2. Jeff says:

    Do you see any of the money from this?

  3. George P. Schnyder says:

    Not available in Germany (as: We have no movierentals here, only way to expensive series) :-(

    Thanks for the heads-up. I’ve been wanting to watch this for a while, and since it’s now on iTunes I really had no excuse.

    I just finished it, and I’m pretty impressed. It wasn’t at all like I had guessed. And I like that. I only started reading your blog after you had mostly finished the movie, and I haven’t gone back to read all of the posts written during production, but I could definitely see your writing on the blog come through in the film.

    Anyway, I just wanted to say that I liked it. And that it’s fantastic that I have the opportunity to actually tell you that. I feel like that doesn’t get to happen enough.

    So thanks for keeping up with the blog, and I look forward to seeing more of your stuff.

    You sound surprised John. Didn’t you know it was going up on iTunes?

    And do you get a piece of the pie? :)

  6. John August says:

    @Jeff (#2):

    Per the WGA agreement, I’ll get money on the iTunes rentals as the writer. That was a key issue in the strike. Because of the sales agreement with Sony, I’ll get a portion of the gross, if (when?) it earns back its advance.

    @Hector (#5):

    I really have no idea or control over what happens distribution-wise at this point. If I really wanted to get involved, I probably could, but I need to be working on new projects.

    I bought The Nines about a month ago and have watched it several times with and without the commentary. I enjoyed the commentary very well. It helped certify curiosity with the choices make by the director and actor in movie scenes.
