The Nines drinking game

Saw a link to this in the comments section at IMDb.

1 drink – every time someone drinks
1 drink – every time someone says “Nine
1 drink – every time you see the number nine or can make the number nine from something on screen
1 drink – every time you see a pug dog or a picture of one
1 drink – every time you see the main character’s green friendship bracelet

Note: I don’t actually recommend this, because you’ll probably get alcohol poisoning.

I feel like this is some sort of benchmark of success. Congratulations.

I finally watched the movie Wednesday. It was really good and could certainly see your some of your past gaming experience in it. Really cool. Although I hed to play the Intervention scene for my girlfriend a second time because she didn’t get it! Oh well… good stuff! Enjoyed finally seeing what I’ve heard about for what seems like forever now.

Now I know why you’re sick at the moment ha What have you done!!!?

  4. Mani says:

I’m pretty sure the second two rules alone would put you well above the lethal blood-alcohol level.

Hell, there’re shots that last a few seconds where we’re looking at a newspaper page with every single 9 on it highlighted. (There’s probably 9 of them each time, too.)

I also think, though, that “lethal drinking game” is a definite benchmark of success.

lmfao… have to hit Costco (to stock up) before doing this w/ friends. BTW when will Costo have 9INES in stock???

  6. Sean William Menzies says:

I’ll pick up The Nines this weekend. As for drinking games, give me a bottle of something strong and I’m game.

  7. Dan says:

Isn’t this included with the extras on the DVDs? :)

Been reading this blog for a long while now. Well over a year, when I was trying to get back into writing, found this site to be one of the most interesting.

Anyway, I’ve been dying to catch the Nines sine you first brought it up and pre-ordered it from Amazon as soon as it came on. Finally had a chance to watch it tonight, and I’ll say this: It’s more than I was hoping for.

Excellent job, I look forward to many repeated viewings. And, looking forward to what’s next.

    Thank you.

Finally got to see ‘The Nines’ - the original DVD reached Indian shores via a friend :) Really liked the film - and loved your house ;) All the best for future projects and hope the strike ends soon and the WGA comes out on top… get well soon.

Just finished watching it. Looks like the next title in my Blockbuster queue will have to wait - my roommates want to watch it again tomorrow. Perhaps I’ll invent a non-lethal game to spice up the occasion.

Congrats, John. You’ve really done something special here.

  11. Dele says:

I watched it last night with my wife who was befuddled with the ending. we had a great discussion about it for like an hour. What an amazing film, beautifully written, directed, cast and filmed. I was excited to see it ever since the article in The Advocate. You are my new hero. I feel like the last kid on the block to know you— but so glad to have found you. Side note, while I’m in the neighborhood… I saw “Big Fish” a month after my father passed away. For about the last half-hour of the film, and during the entirety of the credits and then some, I sat in the theatre with my wife, sobbing uncontrollably. It was beautiful and so cathartic. It will always be a film close to my heart. Thank you.

I adored The Nines. I drink whenever I see Melissa McCarthy’s dimples. I think she is the cat’s pajamas. Also, Big Fish was a balm for my misplaced North GA soul here in Southern Cali. Thanks for that and The Nines. I will keep my fag hag third eye on your career.
