The Nines soundtrack

Since Sundance, we’ve had a lot of questions (and compliments) about the music in The Nines. We didn’t end up making a conventional soundtrack deal, mostly because the film distribution situation was complicated enough. But you can find most of the music online. Alex Wurman has a lot of the score available for download at his site.

And with a few exceptions, including Cabaret Diosa’s “Comet Samba”, most of the tracks are available on iTunes. That’s where I found “You Keep Me Hanging On” by Ferris Wheel.

If the widget below isn’t loading for you, you can find the full playlist up at iTunes.

Pink Martini from my beautiful hometown of Portland, Oregon. Very nice to see. Great picks overall, especially Jamie Lidell. This just might be a soundtrack I have to buy.

I literally bow to Alex Wurman. That is a catching, haunting score - definitly on par with those of Donnie Darko or Crash, but in a totally different way. Incredible.

I know it´s available for free download on his site. But if you ever decide to sell the score via iTunes - done deal.

Great film, great music Mr. August - caught it at Landmark Sunshine in NY and the audience, as I, seemed very into it. One question about the music: I can’t seem to locate the track that played as the “Gavin” character’s scene drew to a close (as he was running around the streets of NYC; the music cut abruptly when he realized there were no reality T.V. cameras). Is it possible you omitted it from the playlist above? Thanks, will catch it again with some friends next week - it deserves a second viewing!

  4. Peter says:

My mistake - it was “Tears Coming Home!”

  5. Mats says:

I think a good idea could be to make an official soundtrack release on download exclusively. If you want all 12 individual songs it’s going to cost.

  6. Chris [TheZeroYear] says:

This is great. Its just too bad I can’t get these together in an official soundtrack

  7. Katherine says:

When will this be available in canada to buy?

  8. Daniel Risk says:

Hey, thank you for posting this! Just caught this film off Netflix, loved it and wanted to check out the score! You inspire me, I’m currently studying Film Prod. at Chapman, hope to work with you someday! :)
