Remembering the Alamo

The Alamo Drafthouse is what you wish every movie theater could be: laid-back, but on its game, and run by people who genuinely give a shit about movies. Plus beer! My thanks to them for hosting The Nines last night. (And every night onward, as long as people keep coming to see it.)

I was lucky enough to attend the last night! I love the Alamo Drafthouse as well. It was so wonderful that you were able to come to Austin. The question and answer session was great. Thanks for the autograph too! What you said about your responsibility to bring the characters to life, really inspired me to keep going with my writing. Thank you for that!

Tim and Carrie league have created arguably the best movie going experience in the nation. They tried to do the same thing here in Bakersfield in the mid nineties, but were unable to obtain a liquor license. The rest is history.

Their passion for cinema is evident in every thing they do. It’s really a shame that other theater owners don’t share that passion.

Thanks for the awesome event. I am glad you enjoyed the Alamo visit, I was worried you were going to think that the drafthouse usually had an audience of “wild for Ryan” women. I was going to come up to talk after the show, but low and behold I am a shy person. You should really plan another event for “Hancock” or “Shazam!”, because it is widely known that Nerds+Superheroes=A Great time.

Really cool movie– I didn’t think it was nearly as confusing as you made it out to be! Thanks for coming to the Alamo and for choosing Austin over all those other possible cities!

I got there one day to late to see The Nines there, my friend and i came in town from houston for the AFF, The Nines + Darjeeling were really what i was looking forward to most, but they pulled it out on Thursday night and we didn’t get there till friday, i was so dissapointed. Everytime we have a party at our place I light up The Nines trailer for all to see, everyone i show it to is very excited about it coming to DVD.
