Sheep lice

We are a species that needs and wants to understand who we are. Sheep lice do not seem to share this longing, which is one reason why they write so little. — Anne Lamott

An Anne Lamott quote? You’re the shit, John. I own all of her books. I just have all the more respect for you now.

Matt; while you’re squeezing out good vibe shots. Could I get a dose of your best dopamine. Anne and I are having another bout with our schizophrenia. Contrary to her I percieve that sheep lice do in fact have a longing on the basis of my last personal conversation with one of them. Why just yesterday ‘a sheep lice neighbor’ asked me. “Where am I and what am I doing here?”

Anybody out there have an extra filmograph by Frieda Mock? I could use a ‘bird by bird’ review about now.

Matt; So you’re a universalist, huh. Hey, have you ever read a little on the Vedanta. The pursuit of knowledge, wisdom and understanding. Whoa, there’s that tri-state again. Can you say Ishvara? To borrow from Freida’s new work. I feel like I’m “wrestling with angels” here.

To paraphase the great poets, Barnes & Barnes:

Sheep lice, sheep lice. Roly-poly sheep lice. Sheep lice, sheep lice. Comb them out, now!

Anne’s thoughts on life, writing & Jesus specifically, consistently shake me to the core but I’ve never caught this quote before! Thanks for sharing it.

Wasn’t trying to kiss ass. I’m just a big Anne Lamott fan.

Anne Lamott does not know from sheep lice. I know sheep lice, and Anne Lamott is no sheep lice!
