Flu shot
The new flu shot is painless. It’s like the needle is made of whispers and daydreams.

This site is run by screenwriter John August. Mostly, he answers reader-submitted questions about the craft, but occasionally he goes on tangents that run far afield of writing and filmmaking. You'll also find info on past, present and future projects.
For photos, blurbs and uncomfortable self-promotion, you can check out his Facebook fan page.
If you have a question about screenwriting or my movies that hasn't been answered, by all means ask. There are a few guidelines to follow.
There are more than 900 articles on the site. You can find category archives at the bottom of every page.

I had to insist they NOT put a band-aid on my arm, because it hurts way more to rip the band-aid off my very hairy arm than it does to get the actual shot.
They were pretty flummoxed by this request. I don’t think it’s in a nurse’s nature to skip the band-aid.
Then, sometimes I think when they see an especially hairy arm, some dark part of them ENJOYS slapping on a band-aid…

“whispers and daydreams”-I don’t know why but I really got a kick out that sentence. That wins my imaginary sentence of the day award. But I have trypanophobia so I really don’t believe you.

KLM, I hate to disappoint you but I think it’s a real sentence.

but freaking out about needles distracts us from freaking out about real problems, like cancer and tyra banks and global warming.

Erik, I meant the award was imaginary. Silly goose.
