Economics of Screenwriting

Craig Mazin has a great article up about The Economics of Screenwriting, which is better (and more number-specific) than anything I would have drafted.

Craig is basically a smart entertainment lawyer who happens to be a really good writer. Consider it a must-read if you’re curious how screenwriter-folk get paid.

Wow — this answered every question I ever had and several I didn’t but should have. Thanks for posting!

Thanks John. That was informative. Having an idea of current standards can help when a deal starts to take shape.

This may seem crass, but tell us where you sit in that hierarchy, John.

  4. Mariano says:

He’s too modest to tell you, but as Craig “Artful Writer” Mazin correctly points out on his website, John breathes the rarified air only available to the nostrils of Marquee Writers. :)

And I bet he drinks ambrosia, too! :)

This is just revenge for the Howard Huge thing, isn’t it?

    I won’t back down.

    You love that dog!
