Back on the line
If any readers care to visit, I’ll be starting a three-hour shift on the picket line at Paramount tomorrow morning at 5:30 am.

This site is run by screenwriter John August. Mostly, he answers reader-submitted questions about the craft, but occasionally he goes on tangents that run far afield of writing and filmmaking. You'll also find info on past, present and future projects.
For photos, blurbs and uncomfortable self-promotion, you can check out his Facebook fan page.
If you have a question about screenwriting or my movies that hasn't been answered, by all means ask. There are a few guidelines to follow.
There are more than 900 articles on the site. You can find category archives at the bottom of every page.

There was a nice mention of you and your blog in this NY Times article about the strike.
I hope the upcoming negotiations end the strike soon.

John,
stripping away all the baloney that both sides are throwing at each other, at the end of the day, you have to feel pretty good for looking THE MAN right in his eyes, and telling him “I’m mad as hell and I’m not gonna take it anymore!”.
Good on you and your colleagues. May you guys succeed in your efforts.
Amen and Hallelujah

I’ll be in town Dec 1st through the 7 filming something (acting) and would love to walk for a bit. Do you know where you might be. It could be a bit of overkill but I could show up in shorts and walk (I’m an amputee). It may give something extra to the “cause”. Also as a side note, just so you know, I’m not going to wander around promoting anything, I also write and want to be involved, at least one day. Thanks, Kurt Yaeger
P.S. you don’t have to post this.
